In the heart of the beautiful countryside of the Charente region, Château de Nieuil boasts beautiful Renaissance facades, fat round towers surrounding the main building, a water-filled moat, a formal garden – Majestic trees, green lawns and a peaceful lake all add to the calm and peacefulness of the place.
The castle was turned into a hotel in 1937 by the grandparents of the present owners and it has retained the unique charm of a stately home, enhanced by owners who love the place with a passion.
The grand entrance hall gives access to comfortable, welcoming lounges and airy, beautifully decorated public rooms, while the majestic sculpted stone staircase leads to the hotel’s eleven bedrooms and three suites. Each is unique, given its character by furnishings in differing styles, ranging from Louis XIII to the Thirties, all chosen with care.
The hotel is decorated with a subtle, harmonious combination of old and contemporary items and works of art. All the rooms are spacious, and the colours gently shaded. In case you’re still not convinced, the windows in all the bedrooms look out over the garden, the park and natural surroundings.
All our bedrooms are air-conditioned, with bathroom and toilet, minibar, satellite TV and a safe.
