Heysham is a charming seaside village full of beautiful 17th century cottages on the edge of Morecambe Bay in Lancashire. Ferries from Heysham to Douglas on the Isle of Man sail every day, and the crossing takes around 3 and a half hours. Heysham has been occupied since the Stone Age, and the surrounding area is dotted with ancient sites, including one of the best Anglo-Viking sites in England. Artefacts discovered by historians, including many tools and examples of pottery the area around the cliffs was an ancient burial ground, or barrow. Today you can take a walk around The Barrows the enjoy the bracing landscape and imagine the lives of those ancient ancestors and Heysham even hosts a Viking Festival with a living history encampment, battle re-enactment, fairground, Viking music and more.

Travelling to Heysham Ferry Terminal
Travelling by Car
Exit M6 J34 & follow A589 to Morecambe & Heysham for 3.5 miles. At 2nd roundabout take A683 to Heysham which is 3.5 miles away. Follow signs for Ferry Port which is at the west end of Heysham village.
Travelling by Train
Heysham Port station is located adjacent to the ferry terminal. Northern Rail operate a daily service between Heyshame, Morecambe and Lancaster. There are no train services which connect with the evening/overnight sailings and some Spring/Autumn weekend services are not always available. Sail and Rail tickets can be purchased at staffed UK rail stations.
Travelling by Bus
The nearest bus stop at Combermere Road is about 15 mins walk from the port.

Café/Bar/Snacks
A cafe providing hot and cold drinks as well as light snacks is open during terminal opening hours. A range of vending machines are also available.
Disabled Facilities
The Terminal has wheelchair access. If assistance with boarding is needed, this should be requested when booking. Disabled toilets are located in the terminal building.

Car parks at Heysham Ferry Port
Car Parking (at owner's risk) is available adjacent to the Terminal Building. No advance booking is required. The car park charges per 24hrs with a maximum stay of 28 days.
