Ski Holidays in France and Europe - Ski Tignes |
Tignes & Val d'Isère combine to make up the Espace Killy ski area and one of the biggest attraction to the resort is La Grande Motte glacier meaning that for die-hard snow fans, skiing is possible all year round. At 2100m, Tignes is a high altitude resort and is often first choice for those who want to ski early or late in the season. The resort is divided into 5 main areas - Tignes-le Lac, Tignes Val Claret, Le Lavachet and the two lower villages of Tignes-les-Boisses and Tignes-les-Brevières. The Grand Motte is reached by cable car from Val Claret and is where the experts tend to head to and with only 1 green run and some more difficult blues, this is not an ideal resort for beginners.
